Review comments: I did private coaching with Kurek for one year and was delighted to read this powerful book. The tools, that Kurek writes about in his book, are what he teaches and what he lives by. It is what made him a success today. I continue to ask myself, when challenged, how would love respond? The answer can only be empowering. Kurek taught me that success is for everyone and that no matter where we start we can create the life we want. This book proves just that. It is a transparent and connecting story about an amazing man!

How Would Love Respond will now act as a tool for me in the way I live my life and as an accountability tool to continue to reinforce these principles. The lessons, the tools, the gift you have given in this book is  awesome and I wanted to Congratulate you and say how inspired I have been from reading this. How Would Love Respond? was recommended in the postings on life coach Joeann Fossland's blog. The full post can be found here: http://activerain.com/blogs/joeann

" One of my summer vacation goals is to read. I have a pile of books that have come highly recommended or that I have been meaning to get around to. I don't know about you, but I still love to read and had not been making the time to do it. Or leaving it to before bed when I could read about 5-10 pages and then got too sleepy to read more.
While in Florida a couple of weeks ago, I read a couple novels. It is almost like going on vacation to be entirely sucked into a story and time outside my reality. The fun of being in other lives unseen and without risk is a delicious treat! I plan to do more fiction in the coming weeks.
And, then there are all the business books and mind stretching books. These are my favorite! I just finished 'How Would Love Respond?' by motivation speaker Kurek Ashley. Kurek shares his own powerful story of awakening that begins with a helicopter crash where he loses his best friend and is forced to question his purpose. If you could use a useful perspective, especially when you've been having a abda day...this is a good read!

Thank you for writing "How would love respond". It is a life-changing book that simply takes you by your hand and shows you what's life about. Some of the strategies I had already applied in my professional life, unknowingly. I am to apply them in my personal life too. You're just amazing. Thank you.

How Would Love Respond? was featured in the posting on Susan Denny's Health+Wealth=Happiness blog.

"Kurek is the Success Coach for Natalie Cook and Kerri Ann Pottharst of the Australian Women’s Olympic Beach Volleyball team, taking them to a GOLD Medal victory at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.

On November 22, 1998 Kurek broke the World Record for the longest “Firewalk”, where he walked on 81 meters (266 feet) of 600-degree coals at the Brisbane RNA Showgrounds. He teaches people that we all have unlimited potential and can do whatever we want when we have focus and take action. Kurek is a top firewalk instructor and takes thousands of people across the coals safely.

Along with Kurek’s hectic schedule as a presenter, he has also been a working professional actor in Hollywood, with over 38 film and television credits working with such people as Sylvester Stallone, John Travolta & Chuck Norris. Kurek’s charismatic, energetic and entertaining presentation style can be attributed to his success as a stand up comedian where he sold out many of his performances." Click here to read more.

"The subtitle is “Imagine If You Were Given a Gift So Powerful That You Knew You Had to Share It With The World“. Wow. How’s that for making you want to rip open the cover and read the thing right away? Being a student of Joe Vitale’s Hypnotic Writing, it’s obvious that this title was created to speak to those who respond to action signals. I mean, doesn’t that subtitle just make you want to read the book? Maybe it’s just me and I’m weird, but it got my attention.

I had a quick skim through the table of contents, and some of the pages to see what the chapter titles and section titles were to get an idea of the kind of book this is. I then flipped open to a random chapter and began reading. Wow. The book is written in a style that’s really easy to read and it’s like the author is telling a story, so it’s really easy and fun to follow along.

I had a peek at the cover sleeve to see who Kurek Ashley is and it starts off by saying that Kurek was working as an actor and stunt man on a new movie when he was involved in a tragic on-set helicopter accident that took the lives of five of his friends, including his best friend Mike. Kurek survived but the event left him wondering why he survived and his life went into a dark, self-destructive tail spin … until he awoke with a new thought, what he calls the gift.

With this book he wants to share the gift with the world. I haven’t read the whole book yet but so far I really like it. I have over 500 books on my bookshelves so it’s pretty hard for me to find a book I actually get excited about, but this one definitely piques my interest. I will definitely have to set some time aside to sit and read this book properly from start to finish.

From what I can tell so far, Kurek seems to have a Tony Robbins meets Joe Vitale type of writing style and the content is spiritual but practical in nature. I’ll definitely have to give it a read..."

"It isn’t often that I read a book that inspires me to be better and to do better. I have read so many self help books, that I’ve become a bit jaded, I’m afraid.

How Would Love Respond? by Kurek Ashley is a well written and refreshing breath of fresh air.

From the first page, it grips your attention as he begins to tell the story of the life-changing event in his life that inspired the book.

He’s a great storyteller, and as he continues to weave his history, I was beginning to wonder - “So where is all the self-help stuff?”

It’s there. If you’ve read a lot of self improvement books, you’ve probably heard most of what he covers. What makes this book unique is the style and personal “spin” he puts on a many of the concepts you may have heard before. Here is one section early on I found particularly amusing:

I Already Know All This Stuff

If you’re thinking, “Oh, I’ve already heard all of this before,” …the question I have for you is this: “Are you doing it?” (touché)

I didn’t agree completely with everything he said (by the way, it’s OKAY not to agree with everything an author says and still enjoy the book), but it all made good practical sense. And I loved how he was able to give examples of each principal from an event in his own life.

He follows that with solid, practical advice in a step-by-step fashion. I’ll be surprised if you don’t find SOMETHING in the book that makes you jump up and say, “I can do that!” and really spurs you to action.

Even the last chapter is a surprise ending and really resonated with me, having experienced something similar myself. ( Resist the urge to turn to the last chapter, will you?)

This is not a re-hash of the same old self help stuff. I’m sure you’ll find this truly inspirational and more importantly, I hope it spurs you to action!"

Kurek Ashley doesn’t really consider himself a motivational speaker or a life coach, he considers himself a success coach. Kurek helps people and companies in harnessing their full potential for peak performance in all areas of their life. From their finances to their spirituality. He believes success can be achieved everywhere.

Like all of us, Kurek has experienced very difficult events that would break most people. And in the beginning such circumstances were breaking Kurek, emotionally, physically, and financially.

Before Mr. Ashley assisted others in achieving success, he was achieving it for himself in Hollywood. Kurek worked on over 38 film and television projects, alongside actors such as John Travolta, Sylvester Stallone, and Chuck Norris.

While filming a movie with Chuck Norris, tragedy struck Kurek’s life. A helicopter used for the movie crashed killing five people. All were his friends. This event lead Kurek down a path of depression and self-destruction. He resorted to drugs to relieve his pain and was very close to committing suicide on more than a few occasions.

After two years of this reckless behavior Kurek started to transform his life. He discovered that through love and passion you can not only change your life but you can also change the world. From this moment of discovery, Mr. Ashley has been unstoppable. He wanted to demonstrate to people that they can do anything as long as they take action and have focus. To do so, Kurek walked 266 feet across 600 degree coals to break the world record for the longest firewalk.

Besides achieving records and success for himself, Kurek has helped celebrities and athletes such as volleyball player Kerri Ann Pottharst. Kerri was part of the Australia Women’s Olympic beach volleyball team. With Kurek’s help the team took home a gold medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Today, Kurek resides in Queensland, Australia and is the CEO of Kurek Ashley Success International Pty Ltd. Through this company, he is able to touch the lives of over 10,000 people each year through his seminars and teachings.

"...Two hours before my first appointment with the media I was gathered in a large conference room with other invitees, trainers and organziners. I decided to go over and introduce myself to Kurek Ashley. You may know him as a Hollywood actor and stuntman who’s worked on over 30 films. He has transformed from Hollywood actor to one of the world’s most respected success coaches and mentors. I was intrigued by his career path and wanted to ask him a few questions about his journey. We decided to do lunch.

It wasn’t before long that I realized he had been through a tremendous amount of adversity in his life. I listened with great sadness to his stories about how he witnessed a tragic helicoper accident on-set that left five of his friends dead, including his best friend; how his life went into a dark, self-destructive tallspin wondering why he was still alive; how his father changed the locks on the house and left him on the street, homeless as a teenager in middle of winter in Chicago.

I’m always amazed at people who can overcome tragedy and use it in such a positive way. So I asked him how he had such a grateful attitude towards life after all that has happened to him. He said he asked himself one simple question:

How Would Love Respond?…

Now my problems of meeting the media seemed so minute compared to what Kurek had been through in his life. But, I decided to ask myself that same question anyway, How Would Love Respond?

My brain was being filled instantly with so many random thoughts. Once the mind chatter quieted down I suddenly had a clear vision. That question reminded me to be thankful for eveything I have, especially my health and my family. That question reminded me to be grateful for every morning I get to wake up and make a choice of what I want to do. That question reminded me why I was there to meet the media, which was to reach out and inspire as many people as possible.

And in a matter of minutes after spending lunch with Kurek and asking one simple question I was now able to explain my hook in less than 30 seconds. In fact I could do it with one word….Freedom."

"Kurek Ashley had many roles in the movies as the bad guy so he is not well remembered because let’s face it… who Kurek Ashley remembers the bad guy. I met Kurek just over one year ago at Nik Halik’s Money Masters seminar here in Melbourne. Kurek has worked with John Travolta, Sylvester Stalone and Russell Crowe, to name a few.

Today I listened to Sarah Wilson from Adventure Coaching interview Kurek live and his story is amazing. During his acting career, while working in Asia on the movie Delta Force 2 with Chuck Norris, there was a helicopter crash in which five of his friends were killed. His best friend died in his arms on the way to hospital. Just prior to the tragic loss of lives, Kurek himself had been in that same helicopter as 20 takes were rehearsed and filmed. You can maybe only begin to imagine how that made him feel.

After that incident, Kurek turned to using recreational drugs, drinking alcohol, violence and multiple attempts at suicide. Every day he held a .38 claibre revolver to his head in order to end the pain he was feeling until three years later, he made a decision. A decision where he chose to put an end to the destructive lifestyle he was living. He turned his life around by quitting the drugs and alcohol and reading self-help books, using affirmations with purpose and not long after this, he was running seminars in the US."

Angela Recchia from 'Angesbiz.com' blog

One of my mentors, Kurek Ashley, mentions one of the main addictions of smoking: The hand to mouth habit. Giving up the chemicals is easy. Giving away the addiction of putting your hand to your mouth is the hard one to break! Why don’t you simply replace the cigarette with a bottle of water? Carry around a handy bottle of H2O and whenever you feel a bit restless, have a swig of life supporting water. Talk about replacing a bad habit with a good one. Why don’t you give it a try?

Of course, there’s no point giving up any habits that you don’t really want to give up. Others may tell you to do it but do you really want to give it up? That’s your own choice. If you do… great! If you don’t… well that’s your choice and no one else’s.
